Hello Everyone,

I am Kiran Gowda a Generative AI (Gen AI) enthusiast and practitioner. I am also an entrepreneur with experience in founding startups. I have around 15 years of expereince in IT industry and now i am exploring new ideas within he Gen AI realm that can open up new business opportunities.

The idea that I am pursuing is that of Startup focused on reproducing old feature films and movies. There are already several ML programs and GANs that are focusing on this idea, however a mjor breakthrough is yet to be achieved. Although Gen AI is now able to create amazing images and short videos based on text commands, there is still a lot of potential to explore in generating an entire feature film by AI. As there is tremendous amount of progress in this regard and there are many ongoing research initiatives, the practical applications of these technologies are endless.

I have done some basic research and my findings indicate the need and thus a market for a reproducing old films and moves that were done shot with old generation cameras in HD quality. Especially in the Indian movie industry, spanning across many states and languages, there was an era of “Eastmancolor” wherein many movie screen colours were grainy or do not represent the true natural colour. There are also many successful moves in south Indian film industry which have grainy images and video, which at the time of their production were done using the best technology available at that time. Hence now, there are audiences for these movies who would want to rewatch these films in HD quality and in true colour.

Ideally the plan is to license the technology to the movie production houses and the OTT platforms who owns the copyrights to the old moves and films. We can offer them to reproduce the old movies in their portfolio and once the movie is remade they can re-release these movies on various channels like cinemas, TV or OTT.

I have already worked on some iterations of GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks) for video enhancements and there is still a lot of work that needs to be done. Hence, I am looking for a cofounder who can join me in the pursuit if this business idea and be a driving force of our startup.

An ideal co founder that I am looking for would be.

1. Has good knowledge in Machine Learning and Data science. Previous experience with GANs would be preferred.
2. Is not just technical, but can also see the business applications of the technology.
3. Can build and manage the tech team
4. Can contribute to the seed fund (optional)
5. Is willing to work only on equity basis
6. Can commit at-least 30 hours a week for the startup.
