Engineering Team Lead for an Innovative Fintech Startup
We are a midsized Fintech startup company currently in the relaunch phase. As we are still in prelaunch stage, we cannot fully reveal the brand and name of the company. However, we can reveal our startup idea and what we are trying to achieve.
We are a Fintech Startup company focused on empowering women entrepreneurs. We are building systems which would enable short term lending for micro and small women entrepreneurs at an interest rate or commission fee that would be affordable to such entrepreneurs.
The objective is to encourage them to continue to thrive in the situations wherein they have a cash crunch due to bad business days. As such entrepreneurs operate at such low scale, it is given that they do not completely understand the seasonality and adverse impacts of externalities. Hence, they might be easily discouraged to give up at an early stage and we want to ensure that most of them will finally make it and we grow along with them.
We are currently looking for an Engineering Lead who will join the founder’s team and help build the engineering team that will be responsible for developing the core product and user facing mobile apps of the company.
Below are the Roles and Responsibilities of the Engineering Lead.
1. Complete tech ownership of product development
2. Recruit Backend and Frontend and Full stack engineers
3. Be a strong voice in shaping the product from technical perspective
4. Make sure to commit and deliver the product and related artefacts within agreed timelines
5. Should be a leader and also hands on when required
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
1. Minimum 5+ years expertise in Flutter, Express JS, Node.JS (or related tech-stack) with strong knowledge of Javascript
2. Strong experiences in writing tests and using test frameworks such as mocha, jest etc
3. Proficient in Git and GitHub for source control management
4. Proven problem-solving skills to address technical challenges and troubleshoot issues effectively.
5. Excellent communication and decision-making skills, capable of collaborating within a team environment.
6. Proficient in conducting code reviews to ensure code quality
7. Demonstrate an affinity for thriving in a small team within a highly collaborative work environment.
The final candidate who will join the team will work on full time basis and will be compensated either in cash or in equity or a combination of both.
We are based in Bengaluru and we are looking for someone who is also based in Bengaluru or can travel to Bengaluru for a couple of days once every 2 weeks.
